PROSPEX 1970 DIVER’S MODERN RE-INTERPRETATION

Prospex 1970 Diver's Modern Re-interpretation

AN ICON RE-IMAGINED

The 1970 Seiko Ref. 6105 was one of the most memorable timepieces of its era thanks to its exceptional strength and unique design. The iconic diver’s watch featured an asymmetrical case made with a wide, flowing design to protect the crown at the 4 o’clock position.

A COMPANION TO ADVENTURE

The first man to conquer the highest peaks on five continents, Naomi Uemura brought Seiko’s 1970 diver’s watch- known for its water resistance, durability, and iconic case design- on many of his journeys. To commemorate Uemura on what would have been his 80th birthday, Seiko has reinterpreted this favorite watch with a dial design reflecting texture and brilliance of the ice and snow he encountered and upgraded it with a hand-assembled 8L35 mechanical movement.

A FAITHFUL HOMAGE

Offering the same distinctive case shape and crown protector, this case design is also offered in a 6R35 movement which allows the case to be sleeker and slimmer than the original, providing enhanced wearability for everyday use.

MODERN DAY PROFESSIONAL SPECIFICATIONS

A worthy successor to its inspiration, with 24-jewel automatic movement, a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and 200-meter water resistance, this rugged and reliable watch is now available in a Limited Edition with marine blue dial and additional silicone strap as well as a gray dial variation with Seiko's first ever "Seichu" fabric strap with enhanced durability for Diver's watches.
