EXPLORING SEIGAIHA: AN ANCIENT MOTIF
Exclusively available in the United States, Seiko introduces two extraordinary Special Editions celebrating the ancient “Seigaiha” pattern, inspired by both the sea under moonlight and at daybreak. Seigaiha is said to have first appeared in Japanese art in the sixth century but also gained prominence as a motif in traditional fabrics and ceramics, the concentric circles creating a continuous series of arched waves, each representing a surge of good luck, peace, and good fortune.
INSPIRED BY THE OCEAN UNDER MOONLIGHT
A new Limited Edition (500 pieces) suggests the ocean under moonlight, with the intense blue dial representing moon-lit waves and the deep blacks of hard-coated stainless steel case, ceramic bezel and silicone strap symbolizing the night sky. The moon holds a particular importance in Japanese art and as a token of enlightenment, dreams, and spirituality in both the Shinto and Zen Buddhist traditions.

EVOKING THE SEAS AT DAYBREAK
The rich burgundy dial of the new Special Edition evokes the seas at daybreak, as golden rays penetrate the dark creating a striking red hue. This version comes with a super-hard coated stainless steel case and bracelet for superior scratch resistance, a tri-fold clasp with secure lock and slide adjuster, as well as an additional black silicone strap.
EQUIPPED FOR DEMANDING DIVES
Traditional craftsmanship combines with contemporary technology in Seiko’s proprietary 8L35 movement, assembled expressly for diver’s watches at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio, with the increased torque necessary for the most challenging dives. The 26-jewel automatic 8L35, beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and manual winding capability, represents the culmination of generations of technological excellence.

AT THE FOREFRONT OF DIVER’S WATCH TECHNOLOGY
Each Seigaiha U.S. Special Edition unites symbolism and technology in a design crafted to perform flawlessly in the roughest seas, with a one-piece, monobloc stainless steel case and proprietary L-shaped gasket ensuring water resistance to a depth of 300 meters, without the need for a helium escape valve. The black ceramic uni-directional elapsed timing bezels and screwdown crowns provide added security on deep dives, while LumiBrite coated hands, markers, bezel accents, and anti-reflective sapphire crystals enhance legibility.
